Thriller Task- Brainstorming

Lesson 7- 9/2/10

For the opening sequence I wanted to try and produce something different which would make our foundation portfolio stand out so we could gain the best grade that we could. When brainstorming we discussed what ideas and views that we each had and wrote down our ideas onto a spider diagram which is shown below. These are the ideas that we thought we could use and some how connect to make a story for the opening sequence.

We liked the concept of creating a tense and strange atmosphere where a vulnerable girl would be standing on a cliff as Trisha already had a good idea of where this location would be. As of yet we have not decided why she would be there how she got there. We thought that for the opening sequence we did not want to give too much away.

The picture above shows our spider diagram where we were planning the opening sequence. As you can see we have considered many key important areas that need to be taken into account like the location, camera angles, titles and mise en scene plus many more that we have thought about that could possible be used. We nearly completed this brainstorming as when it comes to filming it will cut down time when deciding what to do.

We provisionally decided that the location would be set forest/ cliff setting in Stapleford that we could have easy access to film. We thought that the protagonist would be a young girl who is quite pretty and trendy.

I think brain storming helped to voice down all the ideas that we each had instead of talking over each other. It narrowed down the ideas that we have thought of and we would build up on the concept. When deciding the title or location this would help us to build on the basis of our opening sequence.
